Tässä sitä olevinaan kesälomalla ollaan, mutta silti ei meinaa muka ehtiä blogia kirjoittaa. Mutta nyt!
Heräiltiin tosiaan Lisalla joskus puoli yhdentoista aikoihin keskiviikkona ja Lisa lähti meitä saattamaan lentokentälle vievään junaan. Päästiin kentälle ihan kommelluksitta ja syötiin siellä aamupala ennen kuin noustiin koneeseen. Laskeuduttiin Ruotsiin ajallaan ja sitten pitikin suunnistaa hotellille, joka oli taas Omenahotelli. Ollaan siellä jo melkein kanta-asiakkaita! Käytiin kysymässä suuntaohjeita juna-aseman vieressä olleesta hotellista ja onneksi ei ollut pitkä matka omalle hotellille, joka oli paljon hienompi kuin Kööpenhaminassa ollut! Langaton nettikin toimi kuin unelma, mikä oli helpotus. Tarkoituksena oli vain vähän aikaa lepuutella jalkoja, mutta siinä taisikin vierähtää pari tuntia ennen kuin liikkeelle taas päästiin ja lähdettiin etsimään Vanhaa Kaupunkia. Kerran käytiin ohjeita kysymässä yhdestä kaupasta, ei taaskaan tarvinnut ihan hirvittävän pitkää matkaa kävellä. Ja kyllähän se Vanha Kaupunki kaunis ja tunnelmallinen on! Oltiin Lidian kanssa yhtä mieltä siitä, että sinne voisi matkustaa ihan muutenkin vain lomailemaan, eikä pelkästään Paramoren perässä. Mutta vaikka paljon maisemia ihailtiinkin, niin koko ajan myös vilkuili ihmismassaa, että josko siitä tunnistaisi tuttuja naamoja (eli Paramoren). Ei kuitenkaan käynyt tuuri.
We woke up at Lisa's place about half past ten and she took us to the train that was going to the airport. We got there without any trouble, then we ate breakfast before we boarded the plane. The flight was on time, and after landing, we took the train to the city centre and went to our hotel. It was, once again, Omenahotel. I guess we're almost regulars there by now! The hotel was much nicer than the one in Copenhagen, and the Wi-Fi worked really well, which was a relief. We were supposed to only rest for a little while, but it took us a couple of hours before we finally managed to go out and walk around Gamla stan (The Old Town) a bit. We asked for directions once, fortunately the walk wasn't too long. Lidia and I both agreed that Gamla stan is very beautiful and that it would be nice to go there again some time in the future. But although we were looking at the beautiful architecture, we also kept an eye on the people passing us by, just in case we'd see familiar faces (Paramore). We didn't luck out though.
Lidia halusi käydä syömässä yhdessä kahvilassa, ja melkein heti kun ovesta sisään päästiin, niin eräs asiakas meni ohitseni ja onnistui kaatamaan tarjottimella olleen mehulasinsa suoraan päälleni. Ja minullahan roikkui tietenkin kaulassa kamera, joka kenkieni ja sukkieni lisäksi kastui aika pahasti. No, onneksi ei kuitenkaan sattunut sen suurempaa vahinkoa, kamera toimii vieläkin! Lidia sitten tosiaan tilasi jonkin kinkkupiirakan, joka ei ilmeisesti ollut mitenkään erityisen hyvää. Sen jälkeen palailtiin takaisin hotellille Max-hampurilaisravintolan kautta, josta minä otin mukaan aterian.
Lidia wanted to eat at this one café, and almost immediately when we entered, a customer walked by and accidentally spilled her glass of juice on me. And guess who had her camera hanging around her neck? I did. The camera got pretty wet, so did my shoes and socks, but luckily it's still working, so no harm was done. Anyway, Lidia ordered a piece of ham and cheese pie, which apparently wasn't very good, and after that we went to Max to get me a burger meal and then returned to the hotel.
Lidiahan sai Lisan luona keikan jälkeen tietää, että Pmoreonlinen ruotsinkielisen puolen ylläpitäjä, Anna, oli saanut sovittua fanitapaamisen Paramoren kanssa ruotsinpuolen ylläpidolle Warner Music Swedenin kautta. Lidia siis pääsisi ylläpitäjänä sinne, ja aluksi näytti siltä, että minäkin pääsisin sinne, koska Annalle oli käynyt sen verran ikävästi, ettei hänellä ollut lippua festivaalille. Paramorenhan piti alunperin esiintyä Peace & Love -festarilla Borlängessä, mutta koko tapahtuma peruttiin konkurssin takia. Jonkin ajan kuluttua keikan peruuntumisesta kuitenkin onneksi ilmoitettiin, että Peace & Love:n sijaan Paramore esiintyisi samana päivänä Bråvalla-festivaalilla Norrköpingissa, mikä sopi meille loppujen lopuksi paljon paremmin matkustelun suhteen. Asiassa oli kuitenkin yksi ongelma: yhden päivän liput torstaille oli loppuunmyyty. Oltiin Lidian kanssa jo melkein valmiita maksamaan yli 200 euroa kolmen päivän lipuista, mutta Lidia soitti jollekin festivaalin järjestäjälle/työntekijälle ja sai tietää, että akkreditointi-prosessi oli vielä käynnissä, joten lähetettiin sinne hakemukset, jotka hyväksyttiin koska ollaan molemmat Paramore Finlandin ylläpitäjiä ja Lidia kirjoittaa jutun Demi-lehteen. Eli saatiin luojan kiitos ilmaiset liput. Itseäni olisi nimittäin ihan vähän vain kirpaissut maksaa 200 euroa Bråvallan lipusta, koska olin jo Peace&Love:n yhden päivän lipusta pulittanut 111 euroa... Saa nähdä, saanko rahojani koskaan takaisin.
It hasn't been mentioned before, but when we were still at Lisa's, after the Norwegian show, Lidia found out that the admin of the Swedish section of Pmoreonline, Anna, had managed to arrange a meet and greet with the band through Warner Music Sweden. Lidia is one of the staff members of the Swedish section as well so she'd get to go to the M&G. At first, it looked like I would also get to meet the band because Anna hadn't been able to buy a ticked to the Bråvalla festival. The thing is, Paramore was supposed to play at the Peace & Love festival in Borlänge, but the whole festival was cancelled because they went bankrupt. Luckily it was announced that Paramore would play at Bråvalla in Norrköping on the same day instead, which actually worked out better for us. However, there was one problem: the tickets for Thursday (the day when Paramore played) were sold out. Lidia and I were seriously considering buying three-day tickets which would've cost over 200 euros each until Lidia called the festival and got to know that it was still possible to get accredited to the festival. We both managed to get accredited because we're admins on Paramore Finland and Lidia is also writing a short article for a Finnish magazine called Demi. So we got free tickets, thank god. I really didn't want to pay extra 200 euros because I had already bought a ticket for Peace & Love and that had cost me 111 euros... I doubt I'll ever get my money back.
Mutta meet&greet-asiaan palatakseni, Anna ei tosiaan ollut saanut ostettua lippua Bråvalla-festarille, koska torstain liput oli myyty loppuun. Myöhemmin hän kuitenkin ilmoitti, että pääsisi festivaaleille suhteidensa kautta, joten minä en tapaamiseen pääsisikään, koska sinne mahtuisi kahdeksan fania, joista neljä oli Anna, hänen kaksi kaveriaan ja Lidia, ja loput neljä olivat faneja, jotka voittivat Paramore Swedenin järjestämän kilpailun. Onneksi en yöllä ollut ehtinyt tapaamismahdollisuudesta kamalasti innostua väsymyksen takia, niin en ollut aivan murtunut, kun sain kuulla, että se peruuntuisi minun osaltani.
Now, back to the meet and greet. As I said, Anna hadn't managed to buy a ticket for Bråvalla because Thursday's tickets were sold out. However, she later told us that she'd get a free ticket through her connections, which meant that I wouldn't get to meet the band after all because only eight fans were allowed to go to the meet and greet. Those eight consisted of Anna, two of her friends, Lidia, and four fans who won a contest that Paramore Sweden had arranged. So it was good that I had been way too exhausted to get excited about the possibility of meeting Paramore the night before, because then I wasn't too heartbroken when it turned out it wouldn't happen haha.
Päätettiin hotellilla, että lähdetään aamulla liikenteeseen joskus puoli yhdentoista aikoihin ja ruvettiin nukkumaan. Lidia taisi vielä nettiä selailla tabletillaan, koska hän herätti minut jonkin ajan päästä ja kertoi, että tiesi nyt melko varmasti, missä hotellissa Paramore yöpyi, koska Hayley oli laittanut kuvan näkymästä hotellihuoneen ikkunasta, ja joku oli kommentoinut kuvaan kertoen hotellin nimen. Kävi ilmi, että heidän hotellinsa ei ollut kovinkaan kaukana meidän hotellista, ja oltiin aiemmin kävelty aika läheltä sitä. Meillä ei kuitenkaan ollut aikomusta mennä hotellille. Olin kuitenkin niin unenpöpperössä, että aamulla en ollut edes varma, oliko koko keskustelua tapahtunut haha. Lisäksi tein alkuyöstä jotain ihme naksutusääntä kurkussani, ja olin siitä puoliksi tietoinen, mutta en kunnolla tajunnut sitä vasta kuin sitten, kun Lidia siitä minulle huomautti. Näköjään meikäläinen ei osaa nukkuessaan olla hiljaa.
After returning to the hotel, we decided that we'd leave for the festival at about 10:30am, then we went to bed. I guess Lidia stayed up for a while to check if anything interesting was happening online because she woke me up a little bit later and told that she possibly knew what hotel Paramore was staying at. Hayley had posted a picture of the view from the hotel room window on Instagram and someone commented on it saying they knew the name of the hotel. Apparently Paramore's hotel wasn't that far away from ours, we had actually walked past it earlier that day. It was funny to think they were that close to us but we had no intentions of going to the hotel. When I woke up the next morning I couldn't even recall having the conversation with Lidia because I was so sleepy. I had to ask Lidia if the whole conversation had even happened lol. Early in the night I also made some weird noises in my throat, and I was actually half aware of that, but I didn't realize it completely until Lidia asked me what I was doing. Apparently I'm not able to sleep in peace.
Lähdettiin aamulla kävelemään joskus kymmenen jälkeen juna-asemalle, jotta ehdittäisiin puoli yhdeltätoista lähtevään junaan. Nähtiin matkalla ilmeisesti Paramoren kiertuebussi, ajoi ihan meidän edestä risteyksessä! Kaikenlaista sitä voikin sattumalta tapahtua. Päästiin asemalle, mutta ei meinattu löytää sinne sisälle, ja siihen meni muutama ylimääräinen minuutti ja kohta huomattiinkin, että juna lähtisi pian. Jouduttiin juoksemaan oikealle raiteelle, ja siellä taas saatiin tietää, että suoraan Norrköpingiin menevä juna oli täynnä ja liput siihen olisivat maksaneet todella paljon. Onneksi meitä auttoi todella mukava työntekijä, joka selvitti, millä toisella junalla voitaisiin matkustaa. Hän kehotti meitä nousemaan viereiseltä raiteelta lähtevään junaan ja sitten vaihtamaan junaa Katrineholmissa. Tehtiin näin.
In the morning we left the hotel at about quarter past ten. On the way to the train station we saw Paramore's tour bus! It was driving right in front of us and it was so random. Then we got to the train station but it took us a few minutes to figure out how to get inside... Because of that, we had to run to the right platform, but there we found out that the train that went straight to Norrköping was pretty much full booked, and the tickets would've cost a lot. Luckily a really nice employee helped us and she suggested we'd take a train to Katrineholm and change trains there to get to Norrköping. We did as she said.
Matkassa meni puolisen tuntia pidempään kuin alunperin oli tarkoitus, mutta tärkeintä kuitenkin oli, että Norrköpingiin päästiin. Katrineholmiin mennyt juna oli tyhjillään, mutta meidän viereisellä penkkirivillä sattui istumaan tyttö, joka oli myöskin Bråvalla-festarille menossa ja juteltiin hänen kanssaan. Hän oli mukava, mutta erottiin hänestä Norrköpingiin menevässä junassa, koska se oli niin täynnä. Löydettiin Lidian kanssa kuitenkin vastakkaiset istumapaikat. Olimme hieman huolissamme Norrköpingiin ja festivaalialueelle pääsystä, koska Ruotsissa oli vielä kaikkien epäonnien lisäksi bussilakko!
It took us about half an hour longer than originally was planned to get to Norrköping, but really, the most important thing was that we even got there. The train to Katrineholm was quite empty, but next to us sit a girl who was also going to the festival so we chatted with her a bit. She seemed nice but we parted ways on the other train because that one was very full. We were a little worried about how we'd get to the festival area because with all the other bad luck we had already had, we found out there was a bus strike in Sweden as well!
Norrköpingiin päästyämme noustiin kuitenkin linja-autoon, joka vei meidät festarialueelle. Siitä kyydistä ei onneksi tarvinnut maksaa mitään, koska se oli ilmainen festaribussi! Alueella mentiin sitten hakemaan rannekkeemme ja lehdistöpassimme, niitä jonottaessa sitten menikin ikuisuus, vaikka jono ei edes ollut pitkä. Jos olisin tiennyt, miten pitkään rannekkeen saamisessa kestäisi, olisin ehdottanut, että mentäisiin paikan päälle aikaisemmin. Halusin nimittäin ehdottomasti eturiviin, koska en ollut vielä kahdella aiemmalla keikalla aidan viereen päässyt. Lidiaa se ei niin haitannut, koska hänellä oli kuitenkin tiedossa tapaaminen Paramoren kanssa ja hän sai myös kuvauspassin, eli hänellä oli mahdollisuus päästä kuvaamaan Paramorea lavan edestä. Jonottaessa minua alkoikin turhauttaa kamalasti, koska olin aivan varma, että eturivi olisi jo täynnä.
When we got to Norrköping, we took a bus to the festival area. We didn't have to pay for the ride because it was a free festival bus, so that was nice! At the festival we went to get our press passes and wristbands, and that took forever even though the queue wasn't even that long. If I had known how long it would take to get the wristbands, I would've suggested we'd come earlier. I really needed to get to the barrier because I hadn't managed that at the previous two shows. It wasn't as important to Lidia because she had the meet and greet to look forward to and she also got a photo pass so she could shoot Paramore in front of the stage. Anyway, I got a bit frustrated at the queue because I was sure I wouldn't get to the barrier.
Lopulta kuitenkin rannekkeet saatiin ja mentiin porteista sisään. Ensin käytiin ostamassa juomista ja sen jälkeen suunnattiin sen lavan eteen, jolla Paramore esiintyisi. Tavattiin siellä ruotsalainen Camilla, joka on Lidian kaveri, ja muutama muu ruotsalainen fani. Kuten olin pelännyt, eturivi oli jo täynnä, ellei halunnut paikkaa aivan lavan reunalta, joten jäätiin istuskelemaan Camillan seuraan. He olivat saaneet valloitettua eturivin Hayleyn edestä. Camilla ilmoitti, että hän oli yksi Paramore Swedenin järjestämän kilpailun voittajista, joten hän ja Lidia lähtivät odottelemaan tapaamisen alkamista juuri ennen kuin ensimmäinen bändi, jonka nimeä en muista, aloitti lavalla soittamisen. Eturivissä istuneiden fanien noustua seisomaan pääsin itsekin aidan viereen, mikä teki minut hyvin iloiseksi, vaikka en pitänytkään ensimmäisen bändin musiikista. Mutta mitäpä sitä ei Paramoren takia sietäisi!
We did eventually get our wristbands and press passes and we went through security to the actual festival area. We went to buy water first and then we went to the stage Paramore would be performing at. We met up with Camilla, who's Lidia's friend, and a few other Swedish fans. As I had feared, the front row was crowded so we stayed where Camilla and her friends were sitting. Camilla told us that she was one of the winners of the meet and greet contest, so she and Lidia left us just when the first band (I can't remember the name) started playing. I managed to get to the barrier when all the fans stood up so I was really happy about that. Too bad I didn't like the band's music, but well, I only had to think about Paramore to make the waiting bearable.
Bändin lopetettua Lidia tuli ilmoittamaan minulle, että Anna, eli ruotsalaisen fanisivuston ylläpitäjä, ei jostain syystä ollutkaan päässyt alueelle sisään. Lidia kysyi, että haluaisinko tulla heidän kanssaan odottelemaan, koska voisin mahdollisesti päästä kuin päästäkin bändiä tapaamaan, nyt kun paikkoja oli vapautunut. Mutta en ollut halukas luopumaan eturivipaikastani pienen todennäköisyyden takia, joten sovittiin, että Lidia huitoisi minulle kamalasti, jos minun pääsy tapaamiseen varmistuisi. He siis odottelivat kauempana lavan vieressä, että Warner Music Swedenin tyypit tulisivat heitä hakemaan tapaamiseen. Pidin Lidiaa tarkasti silmällä ja lopulta hän alkoi viittoa minua tulemaan kiireellä, ja minä juoksin paikalle sydän kurkussa. Heitä oltiin vihdoin tultu viemään bändiä tapaamaan ja Warnerin työntekijä alkoi johdattaa meitä Paramoren pukukoppia päin.
After the band had finished playing, Lidia came to inform me that Anna, the admin of the Swedish fansite, couldn't get to the festival area for some reason. Lidia asked me if I wanted to come and wait with them because now there was a possibility I'd get to the meet and greet since there were empty slots. But I wasn't too keen on leaving my spot at the barrier for a slight chance so we agreed that Lidia would wave at me if I could take part in the meet and greet. They were waiting for an employee from Warner Music Sweden to come and take them to meet the band. I kept an eye on Lidia, she was standing a bit farther away next to the stage, and eventually she started waving at me so I ran there quickly. We were then taken towards Paramore's dressing room.
Tapaamiseenhan oli alunperin tarkoitus tulla kahdeksan fania, mutta lukumäärä olikin kutistunut neljään, ilmeisesti kilpailun voittajat Camillaa lukuun ottamatta eivät olleet löytäneet paikalle. Meitä oli siis vain Lidia, minä, Camilla ja hänen kaverinsa, Ida. Olin aivan innoissani kävellessämme pukukopeille ja yritin kovasti miettiä, mitä bändille sanoisin. En millään voinut uskoa todeksi sitä, että monen vuoden odottamisen jälkeen vihdoin tapaisin lempibändini.
As I've mentioned, there were supposed to be eight fans at the meet and greet, but the number had reduced to four. Apparently Camilla was the only contest winner who had showed up. So there were only four of us: Lidia, Camilla, Camilla's friend Ida, and I. I got super excited when we were walking to the dressing room and was thinking what I'd say to the band. I couldn't believe that my dream of meeting my favourite band was finally coming true!
No, eihän se sitten loppujen lopuksi käynytkään todeksi. Paramoren manageri, Will, tuli meitä vastaan, kun olimme jo melkein pukuhuoneen ovilla ja sanoi, että tapaaminen ei onnistuisi. Ilmeisesti me olimmme yli puoli tuntia myöhässä, eikä bändillä mitenkään ollut aikaa meitä enää tavata. Warner Music Swedenin päässä oli vähän jotain sekoiltu. Nähtävästi henkilö, jonka alunperin piti tulla tapaamiseen hakemaan, oli juuttunut ruuhkaan ja henkilö, joka lopulta tuli hakemaan, ei oikein osannut asiaansa, koska ei ollut saanut kunnollisia ohjeita. Kuitenkin, Will pahoitteli asiaa ja lupasi, että pääsisimme tapaamaan Paramoren seuraavan kerran kun he Ruotsiin tulisivat. Eli Ruotsin reissu odottaa seuraavallakin Euroopan kiertueella lol. Will muisti Lidian Norjan haastattelusta ja kysyi, että etkös tavannut bändin aiemminkin. Vaan kukapa sitä kieltäytyisi, jos meet&greetiä tarjotaan! Palattiin sitten pettyneinä takaisin lavan eteen, jossa eturivipaikat olivat taas täyttyneet. Totesin Lidialle, että keksin, mikä reissun motto oli: Älä nuolaise ennen kuin tipahtaa. Minulla se oli käynyt toteen jo Norjassa, kun en päässytkään lavalla, vaikka hetken jo luulin, ja nyt kävi samantapaisesti Ruotsissa. Mutta ei se auttanut kuin niellä pettymyksensä ja jatkaa odottelua.
Well, the dream didn't come true. Paramore's manager, Will, approached us when we were nearly at the dressing room's door. He said that we couldn't meet Paramore because we were over half an hour late and the band simply didn't have the time. Turns out Warner Music Sweden had messed up a bit. The person who was supposed to take us to the meet and greet got stuck in traffic, and the person who eventually did come and get us didn't really know what was going on because she didn't receive proper instructions. Anyway, Will apologized to us and told us we'd get to meet the band the next time they come to Sweden. I guess we have another Swedish trip in the horizon on the next European tour! ;) They also promised us signed stuff but we haven't heard about those ha. Will remembered Lidia from the interview she had done with the band and said: "Didn't you meet the band on Tuesday already?" but who'd say no to a M&G opportunity? We were disappointed and we returned to the stage where the front row was full again. I told Lidia that I had figured out a motto for our trip: Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. I had experienced that kind of a thing already in Oslo, when I thought I'd get on stage, because Hayley pointed at me, but then didn't. And now this in Sweden. But we couldn't really do anything else but to swallow our disappointment and wait for Paramore to get on stage.
Paramorea ennen esiintyi vielä ruotsalainen Eva Dahlgren. Pääsin onneksi taas eturiviin ihmisten noustessa seisomaan, mikä piristi mielialaani huomattavasti. Ennen Evan esiintymistä satoi aika kovastikin, mutta onneksi mukana oli kertakäyttöiset sadetakit! Evan aikanakin vielä sateli, mutta ei onneksi kaatamalla.
There was one more performer left before Paramore, and that was a Swedish musician Eva Dahlgren. Once again, I managed to make room for myself at the barrier when everyone stood up, which really lifted my mood. It had been raining quite heavily before Eva and it continued raining during her performance. Fortunately we'd been wise and taken disposable raincoats with us!
Oli ihan mielenkiintoinen tunti, ei niinkään Evan takia, vaan hänen humalaisen keski-ikäisen faninsa, joka halusi Evan esiintymisen ajaksi eturiviin. Hän tuli kysymään minulta ja Idalta, että pidämmekö me Evasta ja Ida vastasi, että totta kai, joten nainen lähti siitä pois. Toisella puolellani ollut ruotsalainen Paramore-fani kuitenkin antoi naiselle paikkansa, mistä tämä ilahtui erittäin paljon ja kiitteli kamalasti. Sitten alkoikin kovaääninen "Eva! Eva! Eva!" -huutelu naisen osalta, sekaan mahtui myös "I love you! Jag älskar dig!". Se oli loppujen lopuksi ihan viihdyttävää.
The following hour was quite interesting. Not because of Eva, but because of her drunken middle-aged fan who wanted to get to the barrier for Eva's performance. She came to ask me and Ida if we liked Eva Dahlgren, and Ida answered that of course we did so the woman went away. But a Paramore fan on the other side of me gave her spot to the woman who was delighted about this and kept thanking the girl. After that the woman started yelling "Eva! Eva! Eva!", "I love you!" and "Jag älskar dig! (I love you in Swedish)" really loudly. It was actually quite amusing.
Itse en oikein Eva Dahlgrenin musiikista innostunut, vaikka ei se nyt huonoa ollut, joten seisoskelin kädet aidalla ja yritin vähän heilua musiikin tahtiin. Mutta sitten yhden hitaan kappaleen aikana tämä Evan suurin fani tarttui minua käsivarresta kiinni, nosti sen ylös ja alkoi heilutella sitä edestakaisin musiikin mukana! Olin aika järkyttynyt. Lidia nauroi. Kun hän päästi kädestäni irti, pidin sitä ylhäällä vielä hetken, kunnes uskalsin laskea sen alas, koska kuitenkin vähän hävetti. Ei siellä nimittäin oikein kukaan käsiään heilutellut. Sen jälkeen yritin kuitenkin näyttää hieman innostuneemmalta Evan musiikista, jotta sama ei tapahtuisi uudelleen, mutta se nyt oli turha toivo. Seuraavan hitaan kappaleen aikana sama toistui, ja järjestyksenvalvojatkin vain nauroivat naiselle. Siinä vaiheessa ajattelin, että kaikkea sitä Paramoren vuoksi saakin kestää. Mutta ei siinä ollut tietenkään vielä kaikki! Yhdessä vaiheessa nainen kääntyi katsomaan minua tuimasti ja MURISI. Siis ihan oikeasti piti sellaisen "murrrrr"-äänen. Ilmeisesti en pitänyt Evan esiintymisestä tarpeeksi. Kyllä alkoi vähän pelottaa henkeni puolesta lol. Onneksi Eva lopulta soitti viimeisen kappaleensa ja poistui lavalta, ja tämä hänen faninsakin piti sanansa ja antoi Paramore-fanille paikkansa takaisin. Lidia kertoi myöhemmin, että yksi ruotsalainen Paramore-fani oli haukotellut Evan aikana, ja tämä nainen oli sitten käynyt hieman tönäisemässä häntä. No, hengissä kuitenkin selvittiin!
I wasn't too excited about Eva's music. It's not that it was bad, but I just wasn't into it so I just stood with my hands on the barrier and tried to sway to the music a bit. But when Eva started playing a slow song, the biggest Eva fan grabbed my arm, lifted it, and started waving it around! I was in shock. Lidia laughed so much. When she let go of my arm, I kept it up for a little while before putting it down because it was quite embarassing. There weren't a lot of people waving their arms around. After the incident, I tried to look a bit more enthusiastic because I didn't want that to happen again but of course it didn't help. During the next slow song, she grabbed my hand again. Even the security guards just laughed at her. At that point I was thinking that Paramore better appreciate all the things I have to go through to see them play. But that wasn't all, no! At one point of Eva's show, her fan turned to look at me sternly and GROWLED at me. Honest to god. I guess I wasn't liking Eva's performance enough. I started fearing for my life a bit at that point lol. Like, who does that? Luckily it wasn't long until Eva played her last song and the woman kept her promise and gave the spot back to the Paramore fan. Lidia told me later that one Swedish Paramore fan had yawned during Eva's show and the drunk woman had shoved her a bit. But we survived!
Sitten alkoikin pitkä odotus, että Paramore viimein astuisi lavalle. Enää ei onneksi satanut. Hieman ennen Paramoren aloittamista Lidia lähti yleisöstä ja meni odottelemaan lavan eteen pääsyä kuvaamista varten. Lopulta alkoi tuttu Misery Businessin alku ja bändi tuli lavalle. Lidiakin pääsi paikoilleen kuvia ottamaan. Hän sai siis valokuvata kolmen kappaleen ajan. Lidia vilkutti Hayleylle ja Hayley spottasi Lidian valokuvaajien alueelta ja osoitti häntä.
Then followed a long waiting for Paramore. Fortunately the raining had stopped! A bit before Paramore came on stage, Lidia left the crowd to wait next to the stage to get to the area between the barrier and the stage so that she could take photographs of Paramore. And finally the familiar tune of Misery Business started and the band came on stage. Lidia also got to her place. She was allowed to shoot the band for the duration of three songs. Lidia waved at her and when Hayley spotted Lidia in the photo pit, she pointed at her.
Mitäpä sitä keikasta voisi sanoa, lavalla oli kuitenkin Paramore, ei se voinut olla mitään muuta kuin mahtava. Mutta kyseessä oli festarikeikka, eivätkä ne mielestäni vedä lainkaan vertoja omalle keikalle. Olin Jeremyn puolella lavaa, hieman hänestä Hayleyhyn päin. Jeremy katsoi minua tosi monesti silmiin ja hymyili, tunnisti selvästi naamani kahdelta edelliseltä keikalta, mikä kohensi mielialaani vielä muutamalla pykälällä. Hayleykin huomasi minut ja hymyili. Settilista oli lyhyempi kuin Tanskassa ja Norjassa, koska heille oli varattu vain tunti esiintymiseen, joten pois jäi muun muassa sellaisia kappaleita kuin Anklebiters, The Only Exception ja Proof.
I don't really a lot to say about the show itself. I mean, Paramore was performing so of course it was amazing, but it was also a festival show, and you can't compare them to their headlining shows. Anyway, I was on Jeremy's side of the stage and he looked and smiled at me frequently, which was awesome. He clearly recognized my face from the previous shows. Hayley also noticed me and smiled. The setlist was of course shorter than in Denmark and Norways since they only had an hour to play, and so songs such as Anklebiters, The Only Exception and Proof were left out.
Yhdessä vaiheessa keikkaa katsoin, kun järjestyksenvalvojat alkoivat vetää jotakuta pois yleisön seasta ja sitten sainkin yllättyä, kun se olikin Lidia. Keikan jälkeen hän kertoi, että oli kuvaussession päätyttyä päässyt kolmanteen-neljänteen riviin, mutta sitä edemmäksi hän ei päässyt etenemään, joten hän oli päättänyt, että haluaa pois. Järjestyksenvalvojat olivat luulleet, että Lidia oli pyörtymäisillään tai muuta vastaavaa, vaikka hän vakuutti heille, että kaikki oli hyvin haha. Hän oli sitten viettänyt loppukeikan kauempana kuvaten.
At one point, I watched as security guards started pulling someone out of the crowd. I was quite surprised when I saw that it was Lidia! She told me after the show that when Paramore had played the three songs, she had managed to make her way to the third or fourth row. But she had decided she didn't really enjoy the show there so she had asked to get pulled out. The security guards thought that she was about to faint or something even though she insisted she was fine lol. She spent the rest of the show further back, taking videos and pictures.
Keikan päätyttyä tavattiin Lidian kanssa aiemmin sovitulla kohtaamispaikalla ja lähdettiin kävelemään bussipysäkille. Matkalla alkoi tietenkin sataa... No, onneksi Paramoren aikana ei tullut pisaraakaan vettä! Ida liittyi joukkoomme ja juteltiin totta kai keikasta. Lidia myös näytti ottamiaan kuvia. Juna-asemalla sanottiin Idalle heipat, kun hänen junansa lähti, Lidian ja minun piti jonkin aikaa odotella. Onneksi paluumatka onnistui ilman vaihtoja, mutta liput olivatkin sitten paljon kalliimmat.
After the show, I went to our meeting point, where Lidia and I had agreed to meet if we lost each other. Lidia came there, too, and we started walking to the bus stop. Of course it started raining... But luckily it hadn't rained at all during Paramore's set! Ida joined us at the bus stop and naturally we talked about the show. Lidia also showed us some of the pictures she'd taken. The train Ida was taking left a bit earlier than ours so we said our goodbyes. I was pleased to know that the return trip didn't include changing trains, but the tickets were much more expensive.
Tukholmaan päästyämme käveltiin öisessä Tukholmassa. Paramoren hotelli oli myös lähellä, kuten meidänkin hotellimme. Näimmekin heidän keikkabussinsa ajavan hotellilta pois päin! Olimme nähneet sen junassa istuessammekin. Paramorea ei kuitenkaan näkynyt (eikä sitä kyllä oikeastaan odotetukaan), joten mentiin syömään McDonald'siin. Sen jälkeen käveltiin vielä ympäriinsä ja Lidian mahaan alkoi koskemaan niin, että melkein kannoin hänet hotellille. Ei kannata paastota koko päivää ja syödä sitten isoa ateriaa, ja lenkkeillä päälle! Ruvettiin pian nukkumaan, koska aamulla odotti taas suhteellisen aikainen herätys ja paluu Suomeen!
After arriving in Stockholm we decided to walk around and see Stockholm by night. Paramore's hotel was close by, so was ours. We did see their tour bus driving away from the hotel, it was weird haha. We had seen it when we were still sitting on the train as well. But we didn't see Paramore anywhere (and honestly, we didn't even expect that to happen) so we went to eat at McDonald's. After that Lidia had the worst stomach ache due to the fact she hadn't eaten properly all day and then had a large meal and on top of that walked around not letting it digest. I almost had to carry her to the hotel. We went to bed soon because we had to wake up quite early to catch our flight back to Finland.
Heräiltiin tosiaan Lisalla joskus puoli yhdentoista aikoihin keskiviikkona ja Lisa lähti meitä saattamaan lentokentälle vievään junaan. Päästiin kentälle ihan kommelluksitta ja syötiin siellä aamupala ennen kuin noustiin koneeseen. Laskeuduttiin Ruotsiin ajallaan ja sitten pitikin suunnistaa hotellille, joka oli taas Omenahotelli. Ollaan siellä jo melkein kanta-asiakkaita! Käytiin kysymässä suuntaohjeita juna-aseman vieressä olleesta hotellista ja onneksi ei ollut pitkä matka omalle hotellille, joka oli paljon hienompi kuin Kööpenhaminassa ollut! Langaton nettikin toimi kuin unelma, mikä oli helpotus. Tarkoituksena oli vain vähän aikaa lepuutella jalkoja, mutta siinä taisikin vierähtää pari tuntia ennen kuin liikkeelle taas päästiin ja lähdettiin etsimään Vanhaa Kaupunkia. Kerran käytiin ohjeita kysymässä yhdestä kaupasta, ei taaskaan tarvinnut ihan hirvittävän pitkää matkaa kävellä. Ja kyllähän se Vanha Kaupunki kaunis ja tunnelmallinen on! Oltiin Lidian kanssa yhtä mieltä siitä, että sinne voisi matkustaa ihan muutenkin vain lomailemaan, eikä pelkästään Paramoren perässä. Mutta vaikka paljon maisemia ihailtiinkin, niin koko ajan myös vilkuili ihmismassaa, että josko siitä tunnistaisi tuttuja naamoja (eli Paramoren). Ei kuitenkaan käynyt tuuri.
We woke up at Lisa's place about half past ten and she took us to the train that was going to the airport. We got there without any trouble, then we ate breakfast before we boarded the plane. The flight was on time, and after landing, we took the train to the city centre and went to our hotel. It was, once again, Omenahotel. I guess we're almost regulars there by now! The hotel was much nicer than the one in Copenhagen, and the Wi-Fi worked really well, which was a relief. We were supposed to only rest for a little while, but it took us a couple of hours before we finally managed to go out and walk around Gamla stan (The Old Town) a bit. We asked for directions once, fortunately the walk wasn't too long. Lidia and I both agreed that Gamla stan is very beautiful and that it would be nice to go there again some time in the future. But although we were looking at the beautiful architecture, we also kept an eye on the people passing us by, just in case we'd see familiar faces (Paramore). We didn't luck out though.

Lidia halusi käydä syömässä yhdessä kahvilassa, ja melkein heti kun ovesta sisään päästiin, niin eräs asiakas meni ohitseni ja onnistui kaatamaan tarjottimella olleen mehulasinsa suoraan päälleni. Ja minullahan roikkui tietenkin kaulassa kamera, joka kenkieni ja sukkieni lisäksi kastui aika pahasti. No, onneksi ei kuitenkaan sattunut sen suurempaa vahinkoa, kamera toimii vieläkin! Lidia sitten tosiaan tilasi jonkin kinkkupiirakan, joka ei ilmeisesti ollut mitenkään erityisen hyvää. Sen jälkeen palailtiin takaisin hotellille Max-hampurilaisravintolan kautta, josta minä otin mukaan aterian.
Lidia wanted to eat at this one café, and almost immediately when we entered, a customer walked by and accidentally spilled her glass of juice on me. And guess who had her camera hanging around her neck? I did. The camera got pretty wet, so did my shoes and socks, but luckily it's still working, so no harm was done. Anyway, Lidia ordered a piece of ham and cheese pie, which apparently wasn't very good, and after that we went to Max to get me a burger meal and then returned to the hotel.

Lidiahan sai Lisan luona keikan jälkeen tietää, että Pmoreonlinen ruotsinkielisen puolen ylläpitäjä, Anna, oli saanut sovittua fanitapaamisen Paramoren kanssa ruotsinpuolen ylläpidolle Warner Music Swedenin kautta. Lidia siis pääsisi ylläpitäjänä sinne, ja aluksi näytti siltä, että minäkin pääsisin sinne, koska Annalle oli käynyt sen verran ikävästi, ettei hänellä ollut lippua festivaalille. Paramorenhan piti alunperin esiintyä Peace & Love -festarilla Borlängessä, mutta koko tapahtuma peruttiin konkurssin takia. Jonkin ajan kuluttua keikan peruuntumisesta kuitenkin onneksi ilmoitettiin, että Peace & Love:n sijaan Paramore esiintyisi samana päivänä Bråvalla-festivaalilla Norrköpingissa, mikä sopi meille loppujen lopuksi paljon paremmin matkustelun suhteen. Asiassa oli kuitenkin yksi ongelma: yhden päivän liput torstaille oli loppuunmyyty. Oltiin Lidian kanssa jo melkein valmiita maksamaan yli 200 euroa kolmen päivän lipuista, mutta Lidia soitti jollekin festivaalin järjestäjälle/työntekijälle ja sai tietää, että akkreditointi-prosessi oli vielä käynnissä, joten lähetettiin sinne hakemukset, jotka hyväksyttiin koska ollaan molemmat Paramore Finlandin ylläpitäjiä ja Lidia kirjoittaa jutun Demi-lehteen. Eli saatiin luojan kiitos ilmaiset liput. Itseäni olisi nimittäin ihan vähän vain kirpaissut maksaa 200 euroa Bråvallan lipusta, koska olin jo Peace&Love:n yhden päivän lipusta pulittanut 111 euroa... Saa nähdä, saanko rahojani koskaan takaisin.
It hasn't been mentioned before, but when we were still at Lisa's, after the Norwegian show, Lidia found out that the admin of the Swedish section of Pmoreonline, Anna, had managed to arrange a meet and greet with the band through Warner Music Sweden. Lidia is one of the staff members of the Swedish section as well so she'd get to go to the M&G. At first, it looked like I would also get to meet the band because Anna hadn't been able to buy a ticked to the Bråvalla festival. The thing is, Paramore was supposed to play at the Peace & Love festival in Borlänge, but the whole festival was cancelled because they went bankrupt. Luckily it was announced that Paramore would play at Bråvalla in Norrköping on the same day instead, which actually worked out better for us. However, there was one problem: the tickets for Thursday (the day when Paramore played) were sold out. Lidia and I were seriously considering buying three-day tickets which would've cost over 200 euros each until Lidia called the festival and got to know that it was still possible to get accredited to the festival. We both managed to get accredited because we're admins on Paramore Finland and Lidia is also writing a short article for a Finnish magazine called Demi. So we got free tickets, thank god. I really didn't want to pay extra 200 euros because I had already bought a ticket for Peace & Love and that had cost me 111 euros... I doubt I'll ever get my money back.

Mutta meet&greet-asiaan palatakseni, Anna ei tosiaan ollut saanut ostettua lippua Bråvalla-festarille, koska torstain liput oli myyty loppuun. Myöhemmin hän kuitenkin ilmoitti, että pääsisi festivaaleille suhteidensa kautta, joten minä en tapaamiseen pääsisikään, koska sinne mahtuisi kahdeksan fania, joista neljä oli Anna, hänen kaksi kaveriaan ja Lidia, ja loput neljä olivat faneja, jotka voittivat Paramore Swedenin järjestämän kilpailun. Onneksi en yöllä ollut ehtinyt tapaamismahdollisuudesta kamalasti innostua väsymyksen takia, niin en ollut aivan murtunut, kun sain kuulla, että se peruuntuisi minun osaltani.
Now, back to the meet and greet. As I said, Anna hadn't managed to buy a ticket for Bråvalla because Thursday's tickets were sold out. However, she later told us that she'd get a free ticket through her connections, which meant that I wouldn't get to meet the band after all because only eight fans were allowed to go to the meet and greet. Those eight consisted of Anna, two of her friends, Lidia, and four fans who won a contest that Paramore Sweden had arranged. So it was good that I had been way too exhausted to get excited about the possibility of meeting Paramore the night before, because then I wasn't too heartbroken when it turned out it wouldn't happen haha.

Päätettiin hotellilla, että lähdetään aamulla liikenteeseen joskus puoli yhdentoista aikoihin ja ruvettiin nukkumaan. Lidia taisi vielä nettiä selailla tabletillaan, koska hän herätti minut jonkin ajan päästä ja kertoi, että tiesi nyt melko varmasti, missä hotellissa Paramore yöpyi, koska Hayley oli laittanut kuvan näkymästä hotellihuoneen ikkunasta, ja joku oli kommentoinut kuvaan kertoen hotellin nimen. Kävi ilmi, että heidän hotellinsa ei ollut kovinkaan kaukana meidän hotellista, ja oltiin aiemmin kävelty aika läheltä sitä. Meillä ei kuitenkaan ollut aikomusta mennä hotellille. Olin kuitenkin niin unenpöpperössä, että aamulla en ollut edes varma, oliko koko keskustelua tapahtunut haha. Lisäksi tein alkuyöstä jotain ihme naksutusääntä kurkussani, ja olin siitä puoliksi tietoinen, mutta en kunnolla tajunnut sitä vasta kuin sitten, kun Lidia siitä minulle huomautti. Näköjään meikäläinen ei osaa nukkuessaan olla hiljaa.
After returning to the hotel, we decided that we'd leave for the festival at about 10:30am, then we went to bed. I guess Lidia stayed up for a while to check if anything interesting was happening online because she woke me up a little bit later and told that she possibly knew what hotel Paramore was staying at. Hayley had posted a picture of the view from the hotel room window on Instagram and someone commented on it saying they knew the name of the hotel. Apparently Paramore's hotel wasn't that far away from ours, we had actually walked past it earlier that day. It was funny to think they were that close to us but we had no intentions of going to the hotel. When I woke up the next morning I couldn't even recall having the conversation with Lidia because I was so sleepy. I had to ask Lidia if the whole conversation had even happened lol. Early in the night I also made some weird noises in my throat, and I was actually half aware of that, but I didn't realize it completely until Lidia asked me what I was doing. Apparently I'm not able to sleep in peace.

Lähdettiin aamulla kävelemään joskus kymmenen jälkeen juna-asemalle, jotta ehdittäisiin puoli yhdeltätoista lähtevään junaan. Nähtiin matkalla ilmeisesti Paramoren kiertuebussi, ajoi ihan meidän edestä risteyksessä! Kaikenlaista sitä voikin sattumalta tapahtua. Päästiin asemalle, mutta ei meinattu löytää sinne sisälle, ja siihen meni muutama ylimääräinen minuutti ja kohta huomattiinkin, että juna lähtisi pian. Jouduttiin juoksemaan oikealle raiteelle, ja siellä taas saatiin tietää, että suoraan Norrköpingiin menevä juna oli täynnä ja liput siihen olisivat maksaneet todella paljon. Onneksi meitä auttoi todella mukava työntekijä, joka selvitti, millä toisella junalla voitaisiin matkustaa. Hän kehotti meitä nousemaan viereiseltä raiteelta lähtevään junaan ja sitten vaihtamaan junaa Katrineholmissa. Tehtiin näin.
In the morning we left the hotel at about quarter past ten. On the way to the train station we saw Paramore's tour bus! It was driving right in front of us and it was so random. Then we got to the train station but it took us a few minutes to figure out how to get inside... Because of that, we had to run to the right platform, but there we found out that the train that went straight to Norrköping was pretty much full booked, and the tickets would've cost a lot. Luckily a really nice employee helped us and she suggested we'd take a train to Katrineholm and change trains there to get to Norrköping. We did as she said.
Matkassa meni puolisen tuntia pidempään kuin alunperin oli tarkoitus, mutta tärkeintä kuitenkin oli, että Norrköpingiin päästiin. Katrineholmiin mennyt juna oli tyhjillään, mutta meidän viereisellä penkkirivillä sattui istumaan tyttö, joka oli myöskin Bråvalla-festarille menossa ja juteltiin hänen kanssaan. Hän oli mukava, mutta erottiin hänestä Norrköpingiin menevässä junassa, koska se oli niin täynnä. Löydettiin Lidian kanssa kuitenkin vastakkaiset istumapaikat. Olimme hieman huolissamme Norrköpingiin ja festivaalialueelle pääsystä, koska Ruotsissa oli vielä kaikkien epäonnien lisäksi bussilakko!
It took us about half an hour longer than originally was planned to get to Norrköping, but really, the most important thing was that we even got there. The train to Katrineholm was quite empty, but next to us sit a girl who was also going to the festival so we chatted with her a bit. She seemed nice but we parted ways on the other train because that one was very full. We were a little worried about how we'd get to the festival area because with all the other bad luck we had already had, we found out there was a bus strike in Sweden as well!

Norrköpingiin päästyämme noustiin kuitenkin linja-autoon, joka vei meidät festarialueelle. Siitä kyydistä ei onneksi tarvinnut maksaa mitään, koska se oli ilmainen festaribussi! Alueella mentiin sitten hakemaan rannekkeemme ja lehdistöpassimme, niitä jonottaessa sitten menikin ikuisuus, vaikka jono ei edes ollut pitkä. Jos olisin tiennyt, miten pitkään rannekkeen saamisessa kestäisi, olisin ehdottanut, että mentäisiin paikan päälle aikaisemmin. Halusin nimittäin ehdottomasti eturiviin, koska en ollut vielä kahdella aiemmalla keikalla aidan viereen päässyt. Lidiaa se ei niin haitannut, koska hänellä oli kuitenkin tiedossa tapaaminen Paramoren kanssa ja hän sai myös kuvauspassin, eli hänellä oli mahdollisuus päästä kuvaamaan Paramorea lavan edestä. Jonottaessa minua alkoikin turhauttaa kamalasti, koska olin aivan varma, että eturivi olisi jo täynnä.
When we got to Norrköping, we took a bus to the festival area. We didn't have to pay for the ride because it was a free festival bus, so that was nice! At the festival we went to get our press passes and wristbands, and that took forever even though the queue wasn't even that long. If I had known how long it would take to get the wristbands, I would've suggested we'd come earlier. I really needed to get to the barrier because I hadn't managed that at the previous two shows. It wasn't as important to Lidia because she had the meet and greet to look forward to and she also got a photo pass so she could shoot Paramore in front of the stage. Anyway, I got a bit frustrated at the queue because I was sure I wouldn't get to the barrier.
Lopulta kuitenkin rannekkeet saatiin ja mentiin porteista sisään. Ensin käytiin ostamassa juomista ja sen jälkeen suunnattiin sen lavan eteen, jolla Paramore esiintyisi. Tavattiin siellä ruotsalainen Camilla, joka on Lidian kaveri, ja muutama muu ruotsalainen fani. Kuten olin pelännyt, eturivi oli jo täynnä, ellei halunnut paikkaa aivan lavan reunalta, joten jäätiin istuskelemaan Camillan seuraan. He olivat saaneet valloitettua eturivin Hayleyn edestä. Camilla ilmoitti, että hän oli yksi Paramore Swedenin järjestämän kilpailun voittajista, joten hän ja Lidia lähtivät odottelemaan tapaamisen alkamista juuri ennen kuin ensimmäinen bändi, jonka nimeä en muista, aloitti lavalla soittamisen. Eturivissä istuneiden fanien noustua seisomaan pääsin itsekin aidan viereen, mikä teki minut hyvin iloiseksi, vaikka en pitänytkään ensimmäisen bändin musiikista. Mutta mitäpä sitä ei Paramoren takia sietäisi!
We did eventually get our wristbands and press passes and we went through security to the actual festival area. We went to buy water first and then we went to the stage Paramore would be performing at. We met up with Camilla, who's Lidia's friend, and a few other Swedish fans. As I had feared, the front row was crowded so we stayed where Camilla and her friends were sitting. Camilla told us that she was one of the winners of the meet and greet contest, so she and Lidia left us just when the first band (I can't remember the name) started playing. I managed to get to the barrier when all the fans stood up so I was really happy about that. Too bad I didn't like the band's music, but well, I only had to think about Paramore to make the waiting bearable.

Bändin lopetettua Lidia tuli ilmoittamaan minulle, että Anna, eli ruotsalaisen fanisivuston ylläpitäjä, ei jostain syystä ollutkaan päässyt alueelle sisään. Lidia kysyi, että haluaisinko tulla heidän kanssaan odottelemaan, koska voisin mahdollisesti päästä kuin päästäkin bändiä tapaamaan, nyt kun paikkoja oli vapautunut. Mutta en ollut halukas luopumaan eturivipaikastani pienen todennäköisyyden takia, joten sovittiin, että Lidia huitoisi minulle kamalasti, jos minun pääsy tapaamiseen varmistuisi. He siis odottelivat kauempana lavan vieressä, että Warner Music Swedenin tyypit tulisivat heitä hakemaan tapaamiseen. Pidin Lidiaa tarkasti silmällä ja lopulta hän alkoi viittoa minua tulemaan kiireellä, ja minä juoksin paikalle sydän kurkussa. Heitä oltiin vihdoin tultu viemään bändiä tapaamaan ja Warnerin työntekijä alkoi johdattaa meitä Paramoren pukukoppia päin.
After the band had finished playing, Lidia came to inform me that Anna, the admin of the Swedish fansite, couldn't get to the festival area for some reason. Lidia asked me if I wanted to come and wait with them because now there was a possibility I'd get to the meet and greet since there were empty slots. But I wasn't too keen on leaving my spot at the barrier for a slight chance so we agreed that Lidia would wave at me if I could take part in the meet and greet. They were waiting for an employee from Warner Music Sweden to come and take them to meet the band. I kept an eye on Lidia, she was standing a bit farther away next to the stage, and eventually she started waving at me so I ran there quickly. We were then taken towards Paramore's dressing room.
Tapaamiseenhan oli alunperin tarkoitus tulla kahdeksan fania, mutta lukumäärä olikin kutistunut neljään, ilmeisesti kilpailun voittajat Camillaa lukuun ottamatta eivät olleet löytäneet paikalle. Meitä oli siis vain Lidia, minä, Camilla ja hänen kaverinsa, Ida. Olin aivan innoissani kävellessämme pukukopeille ja yritin kovasti miettiä, mitä bändille sanoisin. En millään voinut uskoa todeksi sitä, että monen vuoden odottamisen jälkeen vihdoin tapaisin lempibändini.
As I've mentioned, there were supposed to be eight fans at the meet and greet, but the number had reduced to four. Apparently Camilla was the only contest winner who had showed up. So there were only four of us: Lidia, Camilla, Camilla's friend Ida, and I. I got super excited when we were walking to the dressing room and was thinking what I'd say to the band. I couldn't believe that my dream of meeting my favourite band was finally coming true!

Well, the dream didn't come true. Paramore's manager, Will, approached us when we were nearly at the dressing room's door. He said that we couldn't meet Paramore because we were over half an hour late and the band simply didn't have the time. Turns out Warner Music Sweden had messed up a bit. The person who was supposed to take us to the meet and greet got stuck in traffic, and the person who eventually did come and get us didn't really know what was going on because she didn't receive proper instructions. Anyway, Will apologized to us and told us we'd get to meet the band the next time they come to Sweden. I guess we have another Swedish trip in the horizon on the next European tour! ;) They also promised us signed stuff but we haven't heard about those ha. Will remembered Lidia from the interview she had done with the band and said: "Didn't you meet the band on Tuesday already?" but who'd say no to a M&G opportunity? We were disappointed and we returned to the stage where the front row was full again. I told Lidia that I had figured out a motto for our trip: Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. I had experienced that kind of a thing already in Oslo, when I thought I'd get on stage, because Hayley pointed at me, but then didn't. And now this in Sweden. But we couldn't really do anything else but to swallow our disappointment and wait for Paramore to get on stage.

Paramorea ennen esiintyi vielä ruotsalainen Eva Dahlgren. Pääsin onneksi taas eturiviin ihmisten noustessa seisomaan, mikä piristi mielialaani huomattavasti. Ennen Evan esiintymistä satoi aika kovastikin, mutta onneksi mukana oli kertakäyttöiset sadetakit! Evan aikanakin vielä sateli, mutta ei onneksi kaatamalla.
There was one more performer left before Paramore, and that was a Swedish musician Eva Dahlgren. Once again, I managed to make room for myself at the barrier when everyone stood up, which really lifted my mood. It had been raining quite heavily before Eva and it continued raining during her performance. Fortunately we'd been wise and taken disposable raincoats with us!
Oli ihan mielenkiintoinen tunti, ei niinkään Evan takia, vaan hänen humalaisen keski-ikäisen faninsa, joka halusi Evan esiintymisen ajaksi eturiviin. Hän tuli kysymään minulta ja Idalta, että pidämmekö me Evasta ja Ida vastasi, että totta kai, joten nainen lähti siitä pois. Toisella puolellani ollut ruotsalainen Paramore-fani kuitenkin antoi naiselle paikkansa, mistä tämä ilahtui erittäin paljon ja kiitteli kamalasti. Sitten alkoikin kovaääninen "Eva! Eva! Eva!" -huutelu naisen osalta, sekaan mahtui myös "I love you! Jag älskar dig!". Se oli loppujen lopuksi ihan viihdyttävää.
The following hour was quite interesting. Not because of Eva, but because of her drunken middle-aged fan who wanted to get to the barrier for Eva's performance. She came to ask me and Ida if we liked Eva Dahlgren, and Ida answered that of course we did so the woman went away. But a Paramore fan on the other side of me gave her spot to the woman who was delighted about this and kept thanking the girl. After that the woman started yelling "Eva! Eva! Eva!", "I love you!" and "Jag älskar dig! (I love you in Swedish)" really loudly. It was actually quite amusing.

Itse en oikein Eva Dahlgrenin musiikista innostunut, vaikka ei se nyt huonoa ollut, joten seisoskelin kädet aidalla ja yritin vähän heilua musiikin tahtiin. Mutta sitten yhden hitaan kappaleen aikana tämä Evan suurin fani tarttui minua käsivarresta kiinni, nosti sen ylös ja alkoi heilutella sitä edestakaisin musiikin mukana! Olin aika järkyttynyt. Lidia nauroi. Kun hän päästi kädestäni irti, pidin sitä ylhäällä vielä hetken, kunnes uskalsin laskea sen alas, koska kuitenkin vähän hävetti. Ei siellä nimittäin oikein kukaan käsiään heilutellut. Sen jälkeen yritin kuitenkin näyttää hieman innostuneemmalta Evan musiikista, jotta sama ei tapahtuisi uudelleen, mutta se nyt oli turha toivo. Seuraavan hitaan kappaleen aikana sama toistui, ja järjestyksenvalvojatkin vain nauroivat naiselle. Siinä vaiheessa ajattelin, että kaikkea sitä Paramoren vuoksi saakin kestää. Mutta ei siinä ollut tietenkään vielä kaikki! Yhdessä vaiheessa nainen kääntyi katsomaan minua tuimasti ja MURISI. Siis ihan oikeasti piti sellaisen "murrrrr"-äänen. Ilmeisesti en pitänyt Evan esiintymisestä tarpeeksi. Kyllä alkoi vähän pelottaa henkeni puolesta lol. Onneksi Eva lopulta soitti viimeisen kappaleensa ja poistui lavalta, ja tämä hänen faninsakin piti sanansa ja antoi Paramore-fanille paikkansa takaisin. Lidia kertoi myöhemmin, että yksi ruotsalainen Paramore-fani oli haukotellut Evan aikana, ja tämä nainen oli sitten käynyt hieman tönäisemässä häntä. No, hengissä kuitenkin selvittiin!
I wasn't too excited about Eva's music. It's not that it was bad, but I just wasn't into it so I just stood with my hands on the barrier and tried to sway to the music a bit. But when Eva started playing a slow song, the biggest Eva fan grabbed my arm, lifted it, and started waving it around! I was in shock. Lidia laughed so much. When she let go of my arm, I kept it up for a little while before putting it down because it was quite embarassing. There weren't a lot of people waving their arms around. After the incident, I tried to look a bit more enthusiastic because I didn't want that to happen again but of course it didn't help. During the next slow song, she grabbed my hand again. Even the security guards just laughed at her. At that point I was thinking that Paramore better appreciate all the things I have to go through to see them play. But that wasn't all, no! At one point of Eva's show, her fan turned to look at me sternly and GROWLED at me. Honest to god. I guess I wasn't liking Eva's performance enough. I started fearing for my life a bit at that point lol. Like, who does that? Luckily it wasn't long until Eva played her last song and the woman kept her promise and gave the spot back to the Paramore fan. Lidia told me later that one Swedish Paramore fan had yawned during Eva's show and the drunk woman had shoved her a bit. But we survived!
Sitten alkoikin pitkä odotus, että Paramore viimein astuisi lavalle. Enää ei onneksi satanut. Hieman ennen Paramoren aloittamista Lidia lähti yleisöstä ja meni odottelemaan lavan eteen pääsyä kuvaamista varten. Lopulta alkoi tuttu Misery Businessin alku ja bändi tuli lavalle. Lidiakin pääsi paikoilleen kuvia ottamaan. Hän sai siis valokuvata kolmen kappaleen ajan. Lidia vilkutti Hayleylle ja Hayley spottasi Lidian valokuvaajien alueelta ja osoitti häntä.
Then followed a long waiting for Paramore. Fortunately the raining had stopped! A bit before Paramore came on stage, Lidia left the crowd to wait next to the stage to get to the area between the barrier and the stage so that she could take photographs of Paramore. And finally the familiar tune of Misery Business started and the band came on stage. Lidia also got to her place. She was allowed to shoot the band for the duration of three songs. Lidia waved at her and when Hayley spotted Lidia in the photo pit, she pointed at her.

Mitäpä sitä keikasta voisi sanoa, lavalla oli kuitenkin Paramore, ei se voinut olla mitään muuta kuin mahtava. Mutta kyseessä oli festarikeikka, eivätkä ne mielestäni vedä lainkaan vertoja omalle keikalle. Olin Jeremyn puolella lavaa, hieman hänestä Hayleyhyn päin. Jeremy katsoi minua tosi monesti silmiin ja hymyili, tunnisti selvästi naamani kahdelta edelliseltä keikalta, mikä kohensi mielialaani vielä muutamalla pykälällä. Hayleykin huomasi minut ja hymyili. Settilista oli lyhyempi kuin Tanskassa ja Norjassa, koska heille oli varattu vain tunti esiintymiseen, joten pois jäi muun muassa sellaisia kappaleita kuin Anklebiters, The Only Exception ja Proof.
I don't really a lot to say about the show itself. I mean, Paramore was performing so of course it was amazing, but it was also a festival show, and you can't compare them to their headlining shows. Anyway, I was on Jeremy's side of the stage and he looked and smiled at me frequently, which was awesome. He clearly recognized my face from the previous shows. Hayley also noticed me and smiled. The setlist was of course shorter than in Denmark and Norways since they only had an hour to play, and so songs such as Anklebiters, The Only Exception and Proof were left out.

At one point, I watched as security guards started pulling someone out of the crowd. I was quite surprised when I saw that it was Lidia! She told me after the show that when Paramore had played the three songs, she had managed to make her way to the third or fourth row. But she had decided she didn't really enjoy the show there so she had asked to get pulled out. The security guards thought that she was about to faint or something even though she insisted she was fine lol. She spent the rest of the show further back, taking videos and pictures.
Keikan päätyttyä tavattiin Lidian kanssa aiemmin sovitulla kohtaamispaikalla ja lähdettiin kävelemään bussipysäkille. Matkalla alkoi tietenkin sataa... No, onneksi Paramoren aikana ei tullut pisaraakaan vettä! Ida liittyi joukkoomme ja juteltiin totta kai keikasta. Lidia myös näytti ottamiaan kuvia. Juna-asemalla sanottiin Idalle heipat, kun hänen junansa lähti, Lidian ja minun piti jonkin aikaa odotella. Onneksi paluumatka onnistui ilman vaihtoja, mutta liput olivatkin sitten paljon kalliimmat.
After the show, I went to our meeting point, where Lidia and I had agreed to meet if we lost each other. Lidia came there, too, and we started walking to the bus stop. Of course it started raining... But luckily it hadn't rained at all during Paramore's set! Ida joined us at the bus stop and naturally we talked about the show. Lidia also showed us some of the pictures she'd taken. The train Ida was taking left a bit earlier than ours so we said our goodbyes. I was pleased to know that the return trip didn't include changing trains, but the tickets were much more expensive.
Tukholmaan päästyämme käveltiin öisessä Tukholmassa. Paramoren hotelli oli myös lähellä, kuten meidänkin hotellimme. Näimmekin heidän keikkabussinsa ajavan hotellilta pois päin! Olimme nähneet sen junassa istuessammekin. Paramorea ei kuitenkaan näkynyt (eikä sitä kyllä oikeastaan odotetukaan), joten mentiin syömään McDonald'siin. Sen jälkeen käveltiin vielä ympäriinsä ja Lidian mahaan alkoi koskemaan niin, että melkein kannoin hänet hotellille. Ei kannata paastota koko päivää ja syödä sitten isoa ateriaa, ja lenkkeillä päälle! Ruvettiin pian nukkumaan, koska aamulla odotti taas suhteellisen aikainen herätys ja paluu Suomeen!
After arriving in Stockholm we decided to walk around and see Stockholm by night. Paramore's hotel was close by, so was ours. We did see their tour bus driving away from the hotel, it was weird haha. We had seen it when we were still sitting on the train as well. But we didn't see Paramore anywhere (and honestly, we didn't even expect that to happen) so we went to eat at McDonald's. After that Lidia had the worst stomach ache due to the fact she hadn't eaten properly all day and then had a large meal and on top of that walked around not letting it digest. I almost had to carry her to the hotel. We went to bed soon because we had to wake up quite early to catch our flight back to Finland.
